Matthew 19:16-30; The Rich and the Kingdom of God
As Christians and leaders, it is crucial to understand Gods purpose in our lives and it is through c arful examination of scripture that we see the full of demeanor principles and guidelines God has for our lives and the lives of those around us. Unfortunately, much of the Bible is not piano to understand. That is why it is important to read the Word of God from an closely neutral perspective. Our goal is not to create meaning aside of the text, but to find the meaning that is already there. There are several passages in the Bible that through time extradite caused several different opinions, and sometimes even division, throughout believers. hotshot of these doctrines is found in Matthew, Mark, and Luke where Jesus discusses how the blue can name into heaven. A spell described as rich by all three synoptics, as young by Matthew, and as a ruler by Luke (18:18), asks Jesus what he moldiness do to inherit eternal life. Mark (10:17) also states that the man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. What we can forthwith derive from these passages is that there was a rich, young man that was animated to speak with Jesus and ask him directly how he could throw out eternal life in heaven.
The controversy begins with Jesus answer. here I will discuss the conversation Jesus has with a rich man specifically in Matthew 19. Was Jesus sexual congress this man that it is impossible for people with much wealth to energize into heaven and the only way to salvation is humble want or was he using a simple hyperbole to make a point in his teaching?
When this rich man goes up to Jesus he asks him, Teacher, what good affair must I do to get eternal life? This chief suggests that the man was thinking in terms of righteousness by faith. His question asks for a single good subject that he believes if he does he will be granted eternal life.
